How to Ensure the Integrity of Original Software Reviews
9 October 2023Original software reviews are written by end users and based on their experience with the software. They include both the positive and the bad and are an excellent source of information for other software buyers. However, it is important to understand where a reviewer’s experiences originate from and what the objective of the software they’re reviewing is. Reviewers who write bad reviews can have various reasons, ranging from genuine joy and well-balanced experiences to fraudulent motives.
To assure the accuracy and integrity of an examination, it is necessary to perform the following checks.
Identity Check – Every review is screened for key identifiers, like name, job title, and email address, to verify that it was written by a genuine person. The review will not be published in the event that the reviewer is not able to be verified. Conflict of Interest Verify that the reviewer is in any way associated with the company being evaluated or directly competing with the vendor, their review will not be published.
All reviews are subject to the same quality control and verification processes regardless of the product or rating being reviewed. This assures that all reviews are treated equally and without bias.
Vendors are required to respond to all reviews, even those with negative scores, as it is a great chance to show they are paying attention and interested in their customers’ comments. Vendors should not try to influence reviews by adding the non-disparagement clause in contracts with customers, because this is in violation of federal law.
